🎉 Winning Property Entrepreneur of the year 2020 programme 🎉

Updated: Nov 17, 2022

Over the last 12 months I have been part of a group of 100 highly successful property entrepreneurs who meet monthly to develop their knowledge and understanding around property, business, strategy and being a high performer.

At the start of the year we set out what we wanted to achieve personally and professionally. Earlier this week we had our end of year presentations where we highlighted our achievements against our plans.

Really pleased to say I was voted Property Entrepreneur of year 2020 programme.

This year was a game changer thanks to the support from some amazing property entrepreneurs and the blueprint Dan Hill and Adam Goff taught. Their blueprint and training is voted 9.9/10 for a reason!!

(Not my finest angle 😂)

Before I jump into this blog - I want to thank the team at Oversubscribed for helping me pull these blogs together and support with my social content creation. If you are interested in raising your profile online, head over to Oversubscribed.

Here are some of my key learnings from the year

1. Slow down to speed to up

Prior to this year I would have seen slowing down and not 'pushing forward' as a bad thing. I have come to realise that taking a break, slowing down and strategising can have a huge upside, allowing you to make 'step changes'.

2. Life should be something we design

While I always subscribed to this way of thinking, it became super clear this year that it's achievable regardless of your desires. Some of the Property Entrepreneurs had created an amazing lifestyle for themselves this year. Others were working hard running £20m+ revenue businesses. But regardless of what it is you want, you truly can design life.

3. Marketing and Sales solve everything

While I am biased because I run a marketing company, this year running campaigns and sales cycles at certain times of the year was great for my peace of mind and results. Usually I would spend the whole year pushing forward for sales, when more planned marketing campaigns and sales seasons are far easier and more exciting.

4. Nothing is guaranteed so build a financial fortress

The effects of Covid-19 and lockdown made me realise that anything can change overnight and having a financial fortress, that can hold strong even through a pandemic, is a must. As a result, this year I have planned, found a team and got liquid to start building mine. Huge thank you to the whole Property Entrepreneur community who helped me craft this.

5. The grass isn't greener on the other side. It's greener where YOU water it.

This year I have turned down a number of opportunities that would have normally distracted me from my core businesses. Rather than reviewing new opportunities as and when I learn about them, I have parked the ideas and plan to revisit them at a certain time of the year. This meant I could focus and push forward without feeling like I was missing out.

6. Spending time away from the business is better for the business

Historically I didn't think this way. This year it became clear that I am better personally and professionally if I'm not tired. As a result I have probably spent more time with my family and friends this year than I have in the previous 5 years combined. I don't feel guilty for spending time with friends and family rather than working and as a result, have achieved more in my businesses.

(One of my outings with my grandad - the matching jackets is a long story)

7. You really are the sum of the people you spend the most time with

We have all heard this a million times, but this year I have seen the impact of this. I have been lucky through the team I work with and the property community to spend time with some real winners that have inspired and motivated me to push myself and perform. As a result, personally, this year has been my best yet.
